Business Manager
First State Ballet Theatre

Position Summary:

FSBT seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Business Manager to support its continued growth. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Business Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations, financial oversight, human resources, and strategic administrative support. This role is ideal for someone passionate about arts administration and eager to help steer a dynamic organization during an exciting time of opportunity and evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

Business & Team Management

  • Serve as liaison between the Executive Director, administrative staff, and Board of Directors

  • Collaborate with FSBT directors to align business strategies with mission-driven goals

  • Oversee HR functions including workplace policies, organizational culture, and conflict resolution

  • Support and cultivate a strong, engaged Board of Directors focused on fundraising and governance

  • Prepare and present reports for Board meetings (financial, administrative, and ad hoc)

  • Foster relationships with local businesses, donors, grantmakers, and community partners

  • Act as an ambassador for FSBT within the arts and nonprofit communities

  • Ensure organizational compliance with nonprofit laws, funding guidelines, and fiscal policy

  • Manage insurance policies and workers’ compensation coverage

Fundraising & Development

  • Oversee gift acknowledgment and donor stewardship processes

  • Collaborate with the Development Director to manage grant cycles, review applications, and identify new funding opportunities

  • Set and monitor annual fundraising goals

  • Coordinate with the Marketing Director to implement strategic, cost-effective marketing plans

Financial Management

  • Ensure Office Clerk’s financial entries follow FSBT fiscal procedures

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for the Board Treasurer

  • Collaborate with the Treasurer on budgets and financial reporting

  • Recommend strategies for cash flow optimization and resource allocation

  • Guide program managers in developing and managing budgets

  • Maintain and update fiscal operations manual; ensure staff compliance

Additional Duties

  • Take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Experience in nonprofit and financial management

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher)

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Forms, Calendar), Dropbox, and related tools

  • Experience using Donor Management Systems and QuickBooks Online

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong commitment to the arts and arts administration

FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST - Whitehall Location

As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and clients, providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities: Greeting and welcoming visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor, answering and directing phone calls professionally, managing lobby, maintaining a clean and organized reception area and completing opening and closing checklist, helping place uniform orders using sizing kit.

Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, previous experience in a customer service or administrative role preferred, previous experience with Jackrabbit software and SquareSpace preferred.

Hourly Pay starts at $15 per hour

Desired hours:

Wednesdays and Thursdays 4:00pm-8:30pm + Saturdays 8:30am-1:30pm
