ADMISSIONS AND AUDITIONS

 

Enroll throughout the year:

FSBT uses Jackrabbit software for registration. When you register, you may enroll in classes or return later using the parent portal.

To enroll in classes, you must link credit card information to your Jackrabbit account, and you are permitting First State Ballet to automatically charge the linked card on the dates specified.

Trial Class

New students may take a free trial class. To sign up for a trial class, CLICK HERE. Complete the registration form, then choose enroll in classes. From there, select trial class.

NOTE:

Our Wilmington location requires AUDITION for levels 5, 6, and 7.

Our Whitehall location does NOT require an audition for any level.

 
 

Auditions

Wilmington Location ONLY: Ballet 5, 6, and 7 requires audition to enroll.

Interested students may attend one of our audition dates, submit a video application, or take a trial class. 


Year Program: September 2, 2025–June 6, 2026

Year 2024-225 students are automatically accepted and do not need to audition.

New students, please submit a video application, or take a trial class. 

Video Audition Details

Video submissions should include adagio and grand battement at the barre, and center combinations should include adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro and grand allegro.

Nutcracker 2025 Auditions

September 13th: 2:00p-3:30p

Wilmington Location: 818 North Market St, Wilmington, DE 19801 floor 3R

Audition Fee: $30.00

To be considered, the student must agree to attend all scheduled rehearsals, costume fittings, and performances without exception. Attendance is mandatory and essential to the success of the show. Absences will only be excused in the event of illness, emergency, or with prior written approval from the director.

All rehearsals and performances are free of charge.

What to Wear

Students are required to wear FSBT uniform leotards and/or t-shirt and adhere to the FSBT dress code

Uniforms can be found in our Uniform Store

Male: Fitted white T-shirt (uniform), black tights, dance belt (ages 8+), black ballet shoes. Hair must be securely off the face.

Female: Leotard in level color (uniform), pink tights (skin-toned optional), pink ballet shoes (skin-toned optional), pink or skin-toned pointe shoes with matching sewn elastic and ribbons. Skirt in level color (uniform) may be worn for pointe class (optional). Hair must be neatly secured bun or securely off the face. Shoes should fit correctly; elastics should be tied off, cut and tucked neatly in the shoes.

No dangling earrings. Small studs only. No necklaces, bracelets, wristbands, or watches. All hair accessories must match the color of the dancer’s hair.

Uniforms should be ordered through FSBT. All uniforms will be delivered to the studio for you to pick up. Please allow 2 weeks to 4 weeks for delivery.
