Marina Profy

MARINA PROFY grew up in Pennsylvania where she began her dance training with Dance Arts of Yardley. She continued her professional training at The Rock School for Dance Education under the direction of Bo and Stephanie Spassoff, where she performed a number of featured roles in the school’s galas and festivals. She has danced a variety of roles in The Nutcracker, including Arabian Princess, Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Marina has competed in the international Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition, Youth International Ballet Competition (ADC IBC), Universal Ballet Competition, and World Ballet Competition, where she has earned top places at the finals with both her classical and contemporary pieces.

Upon graduation, Marina danced professionally with First State Ballet Theatre, Nashville Ballet’s second company, and United Ballet Theatre, dancing roles in classical ballets as well as new contemporary works. Since joining First State Ballet Theatre Marina has danced the roles of Big Swans in Swan Lake, Flower Princess in The Nutcracker, Hermia in Zachary Kapeluck’s premiere of Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Fantasy of Dvorak choreographed by Victor Plotnikov.

In addition to dancing with First State Ballet Theatre she also teaches ballet and contemporary in the Philadelphia area and is an award-winning choreographer. Marina is looking forward to her third season with First State Ballet Theatre!
