KATE HEULITT is excited to be joining First State Ballet Theater for her sixth season. She was born and raised in Middlesex, New Jersey, where she began her training at Central Jersey Dance and Gymnastics. In 2014, she also joined New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble (NJDTE), where she trained under Nancy Turano.

Kate continued her training at Marymount Manhattan College, where, in 2021, she earned a BFA in Dance. Kate started her professional career touring the Northeast with Connecticut Ballet and Chevalier Ballet.

Since joining First State Ballet Theatre, Kate has enjoyed performing Lucy in Viktor Plotnikov’s Dracula, Spring Waters Pas de Deux, Nomad Queen in Don Quixote, Diamond Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and Coffee in The Nutcracker. She had the honor of originating the role of Puck in Zachary Kapeluck’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Additionally, Kate has premiered new contemporary works by Viktor Plotnikov (Fantasy to Dvořák, Unwound, Celestials) and Meaghan McHale (From Out of the Silence).

Outside of dancing, she serves as the Assistant Director of National Ballet Competition and enjoys bringing ballet to the local schools by performing in FSBT’s Danceworks outreach program. Kate hopes to continue bringing smiles to people's faces with her dancing.
