KATE HEULITT is excited to be joining First State Ballet Theater for her fifth season. She was born and raised in Middlesex, New Jersey, where she began her training at Central Jersey Dance and Gymnastics. In 2014, she also joined New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble (NJDTE), where she trained under Nancy Turano.
Kate continued her training at Marymount Manhattan College, where in 2021, she earned a BFA in Dance. Her professional career started by touring the Northeast with Connecticut Ballet and Chevalier Ballet.
Since joining First State Ballet Theare, Kate enjoyed performing Spring Waters pas de duex, Nomad Queen in Don Quixote, Diamond Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and Coffee in The Nutcracker. She had the honor of originating the role of Puck in Zachary Kapeluck’s Mid-Summer Night’s Dream. Additionally, Kate premiered new contemporary works by Viktor Plotnikov (Fantasy to Dvořák, Unwound, Celestials) and Meaghan McHale (From Out of the Silence).
Outside of dancing, she serves as the Assistant Director of National Ballet Competition and enjoys bringing ballet to the local schools by performing in FSBT’s Danceworks outreach program. Kate hopes to continue bringing smiles to people's faces with her dancing.
