Kelly Millar
KELLY MILLAR, a native of Elmer, New Jersey, began her dance training at the age of nine and has since built an accomplished career spanning over 25 years in dance education and performance. She trained with the Vineland Regional Dance Company and further refined her skills through prestigious summer programs at Burklyn Ballet Theatre and The Juilliard School.
Ms. Millar has worked extensively with a wide range of respected organizations and has taught master classes at numerous studios and companies, including Delaware Dance Company, Delaware Ballet, Vineland Regional Dance Company, and the School of First State Ballet Theatre, among others. As a choreographer, she has collaborated with dancers and companies throughout New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Texas. She attended the National Choreography Intensive as both a choreographer and staff member. More than ten of Ms. Millar’s works have been selected for performance at the Regional Dance America/Northeast Festival and National Festivals. She has also worked with the professional dancers of First State Ballet Theatre, where two of her original works premiered in 2015 and 2016. For 13 years, Ms. Millar served as Director of the Delaware Dance Festival, a nonprofit dedicated to providing performance and scholarship opportunities for young dancers.
A graduate of the University of Delaware, Ms. Millar is currently the Dance Academy teacher at Arthur P. Schalick High School. In addition to her teaching role, she choreographs for the school musicals, coaches cheerleading, works with the middle school students after school, and serves as choreographer and director for district-wide productions such as The Nutcracker and Carnival of the Animals.
Kelly has been married to her husband, Jason, for twenty years, and together they have two children, Owen and Alicia. She remains deeply passionate about sharing her love of dance and is honored to be a part of FSBT’s production of Giselle.
