Dominique Buckman Berrocal

DOMINIQUE BUCKMAN BERROCAL was born in Escazú, Costa Rica, and began her formal ballet training after moving to the United States, studying under Jack and Michelle Bettin in Washington, D.C. She later trained at the Kintz-Mejia Ballet Academy in McLean, Virginia, and completed her professional studies at the Akhmedova Ballet Academy (ABA) in Silver Spring, Maryland. While at ABA, she competed nationally and internationally at Youth America Grand Prix, WBAC Grand Prix, and Domenico Modugno (Italy). Additionally, she attended various globally renowned training programs, including Bolshoi Ballet, Russian Masters, and IBStage.

After graduation, Dominique joined Ballet de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, as a trainee before being promoted to the corps de ballet, performing with the company for three seasons. She later joined Ballet des Amériques–Carole Alexis Ballet Theatre in New York City as a soloist. Dominique returned to Washington, D.C., to perform in numerous freelance projects alongside advancing her university studies in psychology, with a concentration on expanding counseling services for performing artists. This is her second season with FSBT.
